I’m building a new modern home, how can I use mouldings to bring character to the design?
Even simple flat bands added around windows and doors bring so much character to the design. Simple and effective.
What advice do you have when selecting larger moulds?
When deciding on our larger moulds, two distinctions are more noticeable.
The EP/SS-19 range is softer, offering curves and thin edges. A design that traditional suits soft French provincial designs.
EP/SS-15 is more modern, tougher and bolder front edge. Designed for the modern take on of provincial projects
What finishes do I need to apply once mouldings are installed?
Once caulked, sealed and patched, these mouldings require a primer and 2 coats of paint. If being installed alongside render, use same specification recommended for the render paint to achieve similar finish.
What joints will be visible?
We recommend caulked joints every joint when running long sections of the moulding. With a good installer, masking tape and a slow bead, they joints will bend in once painted over.
What is the difference between EP and SS moulds?
EP is short for Eaves and parapets. These moulds are ideal when used in these locations due to the flat top on the mould.
SS is signifies Slop Top. Ideal for when running the moulds on a wall as a stringer. Without flashing on an eave line above, these moulds have a slop top edge so that water runs off easily.
